Ventfort Hall, built in 1893, is one of the most unique and charming locations in the Berkshires. One of Lenox’s Gilded Age “cottages”, the mansion offer an elegant yet intimate setting, evocative of an historic bygone era – an unforgettable backdrop for wedding ceremonies and receptions, bridal showers, rehearsal dinners, and farewell breakfasts. Our capacity is 100-150 persons and a complimentary guided tour of the building and its history may be arranged.
The Great Hall: 50 x 25 feet; 7-8 tables of 8 or lecture seating for 80
The Dining Room: 32 x 16 feet; buffet table plus seats up to 6 tables of 8 or a lecture for 60
The Library: 31 x 25 feet; It seats up to 8 tables of 8 or a lecture for 80
The Long Hallway is a corridor and normally contains revolving exhibits
The small Butler’s Pantry/Kitchen 13 x 18 is available for catering and for clean up. Caterers may enter through the garden door. Very little storage space is available.
Handicapped access is through the front door by means of a ramp in the Porte Cochere with handicap parking spaces very close.
Three bathrooms are located on the ground floor; the handicapped accessible bathroom is large, and the two additional bathrooms are standard.
Wedding Ceremony (2 hours):
$2500 plus reset fee
Wedding Cocktail Reception (2 hours):
$3500 plus $350 reset fee
Wedding Dinner and Dancing Reception (4 hours):
$4500 plus $350 reset fee
Each additional hour needed: $500
An initial nonrefundable deposit of $500 payable in advance, along with the signed agreement, is required to reserve the date. A second payment of the full balance is due 14 days prior to the event. Final payment of miscellaneous charges (if applicable) is due 30 days after distribution of bill. In the event of cancelation, 50% of the second payment will be refunded. Events may be canceled for non-payment by agreed date. Prices subject to change without notice. Our capacity is 150 people, The Lenox zoning board requires all events at Ventfort Hall to end by 11:00pm.
If liquor is to be served to the public, a permit has to be secured from the Lenox Selectmen for your event.
This costs $50 per event and has to be applied for three weeks in advance. Our event Coordinator will assist you with this process. A licensed bartender or caterer is required to serve the liquor and has to be named on the application. Small private parties do not need a permit but it is the customer’s responsibility to make sure that the guests can get home safely.
It is possible for the caterers to bring necessary materials before the event and to have them picked up later. However, this must be scheduled in advance as our space for storage is severely limited.
Ventfort Hall has the following available for use:
- 10 54″ round tables which seat 8 people
- 100 comfortable stacking chairs with metal frames with padded seat & back
- 4 30″ round folding tables which can seat 4 people
- 10 cocktail tables – tall or short…
- 2 6 ft x 30 inch folding banquet tables
Any open flame must be supervised at all times and requires special written permission. No fires are allowed in the fireplaces with the exception of the gas fire in the Great Hall.
No decorations may be attached to any walls, doors, or windows with tape, staples, nails or any other material. The customer is responsible for replacing or paying for the repair of anything that may be damaged or broken.
Tents are not allowed on the property. No music or noisy activity is allowed outside. Music inside must not be so loud that it affects the building. Ventfort Hall retains the right to ask for the volume to be regulated if necessary.
No smoking is allowed inside the mansion. If there are smokers outside or on the porch the butts must all be placed safely in ashtrays provided for that purpose.
