LENOX — Two time periods collided Saturday when Gilded Age museum Ventfort Hall hosted a Medieval Faire.
It was a beautiful autumn day for a fair with blue skies, colorful trees, a slight breeze, and the bright sun glinting off the swords and shields swaying in faux battle.
The men and women circulating through the crowd in armor and period costumes were members of the International Society for Creative Anachronism, and this was their second year participating in the event.
They dressed as accurately as they could in homemade costumes and accessories according to their position in the SCA. Everyone had a period name and a period role, such as knight, squire or duchess. They rode horses, answered questions and fought in a simulated jousting tournament. Click here to read more
