The Masquerade Macabre is a formal masquerade honoring the spirits of Ventfort Hall. All funds raised fund operations and salaries, allowing our living spirits to stay alive! Come for an evening of music, dancing, drinks, and other dark delights at Ventfort Hall Gilded Age Mansion & Museum on Saturday evening, October 24, from 7-11 pm.

The mansion is a restoration-in-progress.
Visitors will witness rooms and spaces in all stages of restoration.
Ventfort Hall is the 28,000 ft² seasonal Berkshire 'cottage' commissioned by Sarah Morgan (sister of J.P. Morgan) and her husband George H. Morgan, completed in 1893.
Today, Ventfort Hall is owned and operated by Ventfort Hall Association, a non-profit dedicated to the preservation and restoration of the estate, sharing its unique and varied history, and creating a community space for arts & culture.

Yes. Ventfort Hall is notoriously haunted by a few spirits.

We treat our ghosts as we treat each other, with kindness and respect- and they do the same. We program regular ghost tours & paranormal investigations with guides who are respectful of our resident spirits. If you're interested in meeting them, check out our schedule of events!

Tea & Talk with Jen Huberdeau
“Ventfort’s Gilded Age Ghosts”

Local author Jennifer Huberdeau posits in the recently published "Haunted Travels Anthology Vol. 2" that Ventfort Hall was more than a country home to the couple; it was an extension of their love. In her talk, "Ventfort's Gilded Age Ghosts," she will speak about the significance of the Jacobean mansion to the couple, as well as how George was particularly connected to the grounds. She'll also speak about the paranormal activity attributed to George by the many individuals she interviewed and share her own paranormal experiences. The lecture will be followed by a Q & A and the famous Ventfort Hall English Tea Service.
